Borschow Hospital & Medical Supplies, Inc. is the largest and most technologically-advanced distributor of pharmaceutical products and medical supplies in Puerto Rico . Founded in 1950 by Dell and Sidney Borschow, the company has grown to annual sales in excess of $600 million. Borschow consistently serves more than 1,000 hospitals, pharmacies, physicians, and other healthcare providers, stocking over 20,000 products from 300 supply sources. By innovating in response to customers needs for almost sixty years, Borschow has achieved the highest growth and service levels in the industry.

Borschow’s success depends on the work of its over 320 employees, of whom 46 are engineers and computer scientists, 4 are pharmacists, and 100 have advanced degrees.  Borschow has utilized technology as a strategic advantage to become one of the fastest growing companies in Puerto Rico with an average 25% yearly growth over the last 30 years. Through its unique inventory management technology, customer relations team, and creative management approach, Borschow provides a spectrum of value-added healthcare logistics solutions to its clients. Hospitals rely on Borschow for services ranging from "stockless" unit-of-use to the point-of-use distribution for medical supplies to medication utilization management consulting for institutional pharmacies. Retail clients benefit from programs such as automated inventory replenishment via the TelePharma® order generation, processing, fulfillment, and invoicing system.

Facilities

Borschow operates from two state-of-the-art distribution centers with over 250,000 square feet of warehousing and office space. The 130,000-square-foot pharmaceutical distribution facility allows Borschow to maintain the broadest inventory of branded, generic, and OTC pharmaceuticals in the Caribbean under PDMA-compliant temperature and humidity controls. Borschow’s distribution centers are capable of operating without outside power or water without re-supply for over one week. Borschow has invested heavily in its technological capabilities and continually maintains two fully-redundant data centers online.
